Position Overview
This individual oversees and manages the YUPP’s educational programs, ensuring that YUPP’s programs—such as LIU (Light It Up School of the Arts), Sports, BTB (Breaking the Barriers Performing Arts Program)and YUPP Ambassadors Program—align with the organization’s mission and vision. The Director directly reports to the Managing Director and is responsible for ensuring program excellence, fostering educational growth, and driving innovation across all educational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership and Oversight:
- Oversee all educational programs under YUPP: LIU, Sports, BTB
- Ensure programs are meeting their educational objectives and delivering high-quality, impactful experiences for participants.
- Develop and implement strategies to continuously improve program content, structure, and delivery.
Curriculum Development and Innovation
- Lead the development of innovative, relevant curricula for each program, ensuring alignment with YUPP’s educational goals and community needs.
- Introduce new methods, tools, and resources to enhance the learning experience, utilizing technology and best practices in education.
Staff Leadership and Development
- Hire, train, and supervise educational staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to succeed.
- Foster a collaborative and positive working environment that encourages staff development, creativity, and accountability.
- Provide ongoing professional development opportunities to ensure that staff remain at the forefront of educational practices and trends.
Strategic Planning and Growth
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and Executive Director to develop long-term strategies for the growth and expansion of YUPP arts, leadership and sport educational programs.
- Identify opportunities to scale programs and increase their impact within the community.
- Work with leadership to establish and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) for program success.
Program Evaluation and Reporting
- Establish systems for regularly evaluating the effectiveness of educational programs, using data and feedback to drive improvements.
- Monitor and assess program outcomes, ensuring they align with YUPP’s mission and objectives.
- Prepare reports for leadership and the Board of Directors, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners, educational organizations, and donors.
- Represent YUPP Academy at events, meetings, and conferences, advocating for the organization’s educational initiatives and impact.
- Collaborate with other departments and external organizations to ensure alignment and maximize the success of cross-program efforts.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Work closely with the Managing Director and Executive Director to create and manage the budget for YUPP educational programs.
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources, maximizing the impact of available funding.
