In December 2003, YUPP held its fourth event in the heart of Saginaw, Michigan a moment etched in our history not only for its significance but because it marked the beginning of a journey with someone who would become a cornerstone of our organization: Theophilus “Uncle KB” Booker.
By 2007, “Uncle KB” found himself in California, right on time for our inaugural “Cornucopia of Thankfulness.” True to form, he ran through the halls of Prayer Garden Church, fussing with love and excellence, ensuring every detail reflected our mission of integrity and inspiration. From San Francisco’s Samoan congregations in 2008 to the launch of the Joyful Noise Children’s Choir and Empowerment Weekends in 2009, Uncle KB was there often behind the scenes, always pivotal.
Whether it was Emmanuel Baptist Church, Independence High School, Project Great Commission, or Dare to Be Different, his presence was consistent, his impact immeasurable. In 2015, as YUPP introduced Breaking the BarriersPerforming Arts Group, he adapted gracefully, supporting the program around sacred heirlooms and sacred callings alike.
Throughout the years, whether managing outreaches, photographing events, offering public speaking wisdom, or coordinating logistics on tour, Uncle KB was and is woven into the very fabric of this organization.
As seasons shift and new chapters unfold, we pause to express our deepest gratitude. Thank you for the time, love, and excellence you’ve poured into YUPP. You will always be honored as a major contributor, trusted builder, and lifelong member of the YUPP family.
We send you forward with love, grace, and unwavering support for all that God has in store for you next.
With gratitude,
The YUPP Organization
YUPP Organization is honored to recognize Sandra Raposa, a woman whose journey with us began as a caring mother and blossomed into one of the most impactful leadership stories in our history.
In 2010, Sandra walked through our doors as the devoted parent of two five-year-old twins participating in a YUPP program. From the very start, she brought a spirit of encouragement, consistency, and quiet strength traits that would come to define her role in the organization for more than a decade.
What began with helping out at events and supporting her children’s growth quickly transformed into something much greater. Sandra became an advocate for the mission, a trusted mentor, and a strategic thinker. Over time, her commitment led her to the YUPP Board of Directors, where she served with excellence for 13 years, including multiple years as Board Chair.
As Board Chair, Sandra led with grace, integrity, and deep conviction. Her leadership helped guide YUPP through seasons of growth, challenge, and expansion. She consistently prioritized the well-being of our youth, the strength of our programs, and the sustainability of our mission.
Sandra’s legacy is not only marked by her titles, but by her love. Love for the students. Love for the vision. And love for the community we serve. From parent to pillar, her unwavering commitment has shaped YUPP in powerful, lasting ways.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Sandra for her 13 years of faithful service. You will always be remembered as a cornerstone of this organization and a living example of what it means to grow with and build alongside the mission.
With deepest gratitude,
The YUPP Organization
