Position Overview

Youth Utilizing Power and Praise Organization (YUPP) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Sports Manager to oversee all athletic and esports programming for youth ages 6–25. This role includes managing traditional sports clinics as well as YUPP’s emerging esports and wellness offerings. The Sports Manager will be responsible for developing safe, inclusive, and empowering programs that promote physical health, teamwork, leadership, and personal growth in alignment with YUPP’s faith-based mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee the implementation of sports and esports programs, including seasonal clinics, wellness sessions, and tournaments
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteer coaches, esports instructors, and support staff
  • Coordinate schedules for practices, games, tournaments, and online/in-person esports matches
  • Ensure all activities prioritize mentorship, youth empowerment, and positive engagement
  • Manage communication with parents, youth participants, volunteers, and partners
  • Collaborate with program staff to integrate sports and esports into broader YUPP initiatives (e.g., mental health, performing arts, leadership development)
  • Track equipment, uniforms, and technology needs; maintain inventory and budget adherence
  • Collect data on attendance, engagement, and outcomes for program evaluation and grant reporting
  • Assist with fundraising, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships that support sports and esports growth

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in sports management, coaching, esports coordination, or youth programming
  • Knowledge of both traditional sports and esports environments preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and logistics management skills
  • Experience working with youth in faith-based, school-based, or community settings
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in Sports Management, Kinesiology, Recreation, or related field preferred
  • Passion for mentorship and youth development, especially in underserved communities
